Welding Certification

Bring your own welding equipment with you. Proper attire is required in the welding shop. NO GYM SHOES! Make sure you get your picture taken with the digital camera.

Scaffold Certification

City of Chicago Scaffold Swing Stage classes are for Journeymen only. These classes are 4 hour classes and will start @ 4:30pm. This certification is good for 4 years. Check your old card to see when it expires. To sign up for this class, please call the apprenticeship office at (708) 345-6067.

WELDING LOGBOOK PROCEDURE

In order to renew your Certification card and keep it current you must come to the Local 63 Training Center and run the appropriate passes in front of one of our CWI’s.

As of January 1st 2011, we are requiring all of our members to come to the training center and get their books signed by a Local 63 CWI. Once your welding has been inspected, we can then fax in the copy of your log book for you. This change in the welding process has been made due to much confusion concerning log books and the questionable integrity of some log book signatures.

Please remember that the log book must be filled out every six months since the initial date on your welding card. Please call our office if you have any additional questions. You can also reach us via email at iw63jac@hotmail.com.
